Report: Eagles Sign WR Mike Wallace to One-Year Deal

When the Eagles traded away Torrey Smith to the Carolina Panthers nearly two weeks ago in exchange for cornerback Daryl Worley, the presumption was that second-year wide receiver Mack Hollins would step in to take his place.
Not so fast, reports NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport:
For the #Eagles and FA WR Mike Wallace, it’s a 1-year deal worth $2.5M with incentives, source said. Slides neatly under the salary cap.

Interesting. The Eagles have essentially replaced Smith with Wallace, who hauled in 52 catches for 748 yards and four touchdowns with the Ravens last season, and they did it at half of the cost.

The guy just keeps swinging it around and we just sit back and watch in awe.
Wallace, who turns 32-years-old in August, averaged 14.4 yards per catch last season, which is almost directly in line with his career average of 15 yards per catch.
Wallace joins Hollins, Alshon Jeffery, and Nelson Agholor to form what should once again be a dynamic and versatile wide receiver group.
