Obviously Nurse is going to get a big gig here. He’s gonna coach Giannis, Embiid, or Kevin Durant. That’s not a bad landing spot after being fired by Toronto. Maybe a step up actually. I can’t imagine that Kenny Atkinson or Adrian Griffin have the inside track on that Milwaukee gig.
The interesting thing is that these guys might actually want to wait a few days, because the Celtics could have a job opening. Imagine that. Boston, Philly, Milwaukee – the top three seeds in the east, all moving on from their coaches? That would be unprecedented.
Bottom line is that these coaches are gonna have their pick of spots to go, and there are enough decent candidates that nobody is going to be truly disappointed. If the Sixers don’t land Nurse but get Monty Williams or Mike Budenholzer or Sam Cassell or whomever, you could certainly do much worse.
