CSN Closed Captioning Gave Nik Stauskas the Best Nickname of All Time

When Alanis Morissette sang the National Anthem before Game 5 of the 2009 World Series, I was at a bar. The closed captioning was on the TV, and when she came to the end of the song, the words on the screen read “O’er the land of the free, and the home of the brave?” A few people in the bar called out the punctuation error and had a good laugh, but they were wrong. “O say does that star-spangled banner yet wave o’er the land of the free and the home of the brave?” is actually a question. Closed captioning had it right, out of the mouth of a Canadian. Nik Stauskas is also Canadian, but closed captioning got it wrong and accidentally called him “Sauce Castillo” during the Sixers/Kings game the other night. That is one thousand times cooler than my stupid Alanis Morissette story.
