The New York Knicks did not get Donovan Mitchell:

Jeez, that’s a lot for Donovan Mitchell. What does it mean for the Sixers?

Not a whole lot. Cleveland looked pretty good for portions of last season and finished six wins over .500, but ended up finishing 9th in the east at the end of the year. They’ve got a core now of Spida Mitchell, Darius Garland, Jarrett Allen, and Evan Mobley. They’ve got some nice pieces but I don’t think that roster screams “title contender.”

Fantastic haul for Utah though, when you combine the Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell returns. In those two trades they got:

  • Lauri Markkanen
  • Collin Sexton
  • Ochai Agbaji
  • 3 first rounders from Cleveland
  • 2 pick swaps from Cleveland
  • Malik Beasley
  • Patrick Beverley (sent to Lakers)
  • Leandro Bolmaro
  • Walker Kessler
  • Jared Vanderbilt
  • 4 first rounders from Minnesota
  • a pick swap with Wolves

That is quite the return. Good stuff from the Jazz front office. They hit a ceiling with that roster and blew it up, brought back assets.

Also, let’s laugh at the Knicks:
