Per the Sixers:

“An MRI following Tuesday’s game and further evaluation over the last 24 hours revealed an injury to the lateral meniscus in Embiid’s left knee. Embiid, in consultation with the 76ers medical staff and several leading specialists, will be OUT through the weekend while a treatment plan is finalized. Updates will be provided as appropriate.”

Awesome!

Now, the update from the Sixers just says “injury,” but Shams is using the word “torn” while attributing to a team official:

Injury? Tear? Either way, it’s exhausting. Every year it’s something. Embiid should not have played against Golden State, which is not revisionist history, because people were saying it before the game. Just shut the big fella down until he’s healthy. Don’t need another MVP, don’t need regular wins, don’t need anything other than advancement past the second round of the playoffs. Everything they are doing should be centered on that goal, and that goal only.
