During a 5-on-5 scrimmage run by NBA training guru Drew Hanlen, Joel Embiid gave this year’s No. 6 overall pick Mo Bamba a taste of what to expect in his rookie season. The Celtics’ Jayson Tatum and Semi Ojeleye, the Hawks’ Taurean Prince, and others could only look on horrified by what “The Process” did to the Magic rookie.

A few things to ponder:

  1. Embiid’s the only one without a shirt. Intimidation tactic?
  2. Bamba likely committed at least two fouls.
  3. Embiid double-dribbled.
  4. Bamba’s 7’1″ frame and 7’10” wingspan was on full display. If the kid can put on some muscle, he’ll be an absolute terror in three to five years.
  5. Trust the Process.

Side note: Markelle Fultz was apparently at the session, but did not play in the 5-on-5.
