Joel Embiid Seeing Specialist for Dislocated Finger, Ruled Out Thursday

Joel Embiid won’t play against Boston Thursday night, according to Sixers PR.
He’ll need to see a specialist for further evaluation on the finger he dislocated Monday night in the 120-113 win over Oklahoma City. Embiid got his fingers wrapped together in the locker room during the first quarter, came back out, and finished the game.
The good news, I guess, is that the affected finger is attached to Embiid’s non-shooting hand. He finished with 18 points on 7-17 shooting but did say the other night that he was having trouble rebounding, specifically going up with two hands to snag the ball off the glass:
“I would say that mostly offense and rebounding (was affected). I couldn’t go up with two hands. Steven Adams is a great offensive rebounder. There was a couple of times that I could have gone up with both hands, but I just couldn’t, and I just kept on tapping (the ball). And offensively, not being able to put a hand on the ball or dribble with the left hand, or do anything with it, my shot, but I’m glad we got the win.”
Enes Kanter is another good offensive rebounder who would have given Embiid some issues if he had played tomorrow night. Instead, we’ll see if Brett Brown moves Al Horford to the five or decides to try Kyle O’Quinn there again in a starting role.
