Knicks Reportedly 0 for 3 in Receiving Permission to Speak to Head Coach Candidates

The Dallas Mavericks have become the latest to rebuff the New York Knicks in their search for a new head coach.
On Wednesday morning, the Mavs firmly rejected the Knicks’ request to speak with Jason Kidd, sources told ESPN.
Kidd joins Houston Rockets coach Ime Udoka and Minnesota Timberwolves coach Chris Finch as those whose teams have denied permission to interview with New York, sources confirmed.
So that’s three reported rejections on top of Jay Wright allegedly telling the Knicks he wasn’t interested, according to Stefan Bondy at the New York Post. I think we all assumed Jay was happy working three months out of the year for a lot of money while not having to deal with the pressure of getting this Knicks team over the hump and into the NBA Finals for the first time since the Sega Dreamcast was big.
The real question is whether or not anybody actually wants to coach the Knicks? Is Doc Rivers the man for the job? Johnnie Bryant? What’s Brett Brown up to? Eddie Jordan once led the Sixers to 27 wins and 55 losses. He could be a candidate. Is Thibs available?
Jokes aside, we know that the New York Knicks have reached their ceiling. The Sixers have won only two things in recent years, jack and shit, so we have little room to talk. But we know a ceiling when we see one, and Jalen Brunson has flopped into the ceiling in an effort to draw a foul.
