Kyle Lowry Watch 2021: Lakers in the Mix?

There’s a Zach Lowe and Adrian Wojnarowski NBA trade deadline special airing on ESPN as we speak.
With the Sixers, we’re obviously MONITORING the Kyle Lowry situation, and keeping an eye on peripheral possible moves, such as a play for George Hill or a stretch big.
One of the things mentioned earlier this week was that Miami and Philadelphia were the main Lowry suitors, with the Heat potentially being a landing spot. Apparently the Lakers are now in the mix:
"Don't rule the Lakers out of a Kyle Lowry trade." @wojespn on ESPN just now.

LA, huh?
They don’t have much of anything to give. New Orleans received a bunch of their first round picks in the Anthony Davis trade. Miami and Philly are both in a better position to make this move.
On Monday, Bobby Marks actually went through the Lakers’ current cap situation, and this works as a good, brief primer:

To match salary, you’d probably be moving two of Dennis Schroder, Montezl Harrell, and KCP. It’s hard to say what the net benefit would be if Los Angeles made this kind of move. Perhaps Masai Ujiri is out here trying to leverage a better deal from a more realistic suitor.
One of the things Woj did say is that Lowry is, indeed, available. There were questions as to whether the Raptors would move him, but with their recent skid, it seems like the smart and obvious thing for them to do. Others have reported that Lowry is looking for an extension beyond this season, and you’d be paying a lot of money for two more years of a guy who turns 35 years old this week.
3 p.m. tomorrow, that’s when the deadline passes.
