Paul George will remain with the Thunder, according Woj:

Paul George has agreed to a four-year, $137M max contract with the Thunder, league source tells ESPN. Deal includes a player option.

That’s good news for the Sixers. George was considered all but a lock to sign with the Lakers, at least according to popular consensus, but that certainty was tamped down over the past few weeks and months. Now, the idea of LeBron and George teaming up in LA is over, and that, my friends, means the Sixers move up a few rungs on the strength of what the Lakers can’t offer LeBron.

Just as recently as a few days ago ESPN ran the headline How the Lakers can land LeBron, Kawhi and Paul George. I would presume that included George not re-signing with the Thunder, but hey, what do I know.

Meanwhile, this sentence from Lakers blog Silver Screen And Roll feels like it’s just itching to be revisited in a few days:

But while George signing with the Thunder is a blow the Lakers’ visions of a George/LeBron James/Kawhi Leonard superteam, with the most cap space in the league and the seeming inevitability that they’ll sign James, Magic Johnson and Rob Pelinka are well positioned to pivot to other options as free agency continues.
