Sixers Deny Josh Harris Sale Report Because They Have To

After yesterday’s Forbes report that Josh Harris’ new main focus is getting an NFL franchise to London, perhaps at the expense of flipping the Sixers, Sixers PR man Mike Preston crafted the following statement… well, Tweet. “Owner Josh Harris has no intention of selling #Sixers; reports indicating that as an option or placing an NFL team in London are inaccurate.”

Of course, he had to say that, because “Goddamn, you caught him. Josh Harris admits the #Sixers are just a short-term investment until he can buy a small European country” doesn’t have the same pizzazz.

Kyle: I’ll take them at their word, the report was light on details and the line about the Sixers was a throwaway line anyway. But, like Jim said, “Yes, he’s just waiting until the team is worth $1 billion before cutting it lose” doesn’t work in a statement. Also, “Josh”? Seems a tad informal. If I’m a billionaire, you best use the proper name.
