Sixers Fan Proposes Nathan Fielder and “The Rehearsal” Fix Ben Simmons for One Last Philly Run, and I Don’t Hate it

Man it’s been a rough couple of weeks for Sixers fans. Our most-hated rivals are in the ECF, the guy who was on the table for Ben Simmons is dropping 30 point triple-doubles, and Sam Presti took Sam Hinkie’s entire tanking model and got to live out the journey just because he wasn’t in a top-5 media market. It’s not great right now. The only hope we can hold is that the Knicks experience a nice gentleman’s sweep and those videos of people climbing on billboards for a second round victory look even more goofy than they already did. While we wait for Tyrese Haliburton to finish NY off, Sixers fans on Reddit are coming up with outrageous scenarios only an NBA Redditor could. There’s only so much you can talk about Ace Bailey before you let your mind completely devolve into madness and madness this Sixers fan has found:

You know what? I don’t hate it.

For anyone who isn’t familiar with “The Rehearsal,” where have you been? It’s one of the best shows out there right now. The mind of Nathan Fielder is a special one. From building exact replicas of a bar, to telling his trivia partner that he doesn’t have a Master’s degree, to making up a fake American Idol reality competition called “Wings of Voice” to help airline pilots be able to deliver bad news during stressful situations in an attempt to decrease the pilot error in airline crashes due to communication issues. It’s an insane show from someone whose brain just works on a different wavelength:

Replying to @Alan Warner to anyone still confused about “Wings of Voice” on HBO’s The Rehearsal with comedian Nathan Fielder… (SAME lol) … here’s some context that us singers didn’t get until watching the show 😆🙃 what do you guys think of this? #hbo #therehearsal #wingsofvoice #storytime #comedy

There is no doubt in my mind after watching two seasons and his previous seires, Nathan For You, that Fielder can fix Simmons. This would be his hardest challenge yet. How do you fix a guy who seems unfixable? We’re talking about a guy who was the Rookie of the Year, All-NBA, an All-Star, and All-Defense in the first four seasons of his career absolutely losing his mind. It’s like one day his abilities just evaporated into thin air like the Monstars took his powers. Simmons needs to be stripped down and rebuilt back up like he’s an old Chevy. No better way than through an entire summer of re-enacting game situations in a scale model of the Wells Fargo Center Xfinity Mobile Arena with screaming fans, refs, players, and Nick Nurse and Joel Embiid lookalikes. It’s genius. Fielder can change anyone (other than that Angela lady in season 1, but she was bat shit crazy). Run the same simulation thousands of times again and again this summer. See if Nick Castellanos will let him move back into his house. Have him relive his worst moment over and over again vs. the Hawks to rid the demons. Desperate times call for desperate measures and the door is closing on this Sixers championship window. They’re like one piece (and a couple tendons) away from glory. Get the MacBook harness ready. We’ve got a Process to end.
