Sixers Lose 12th in a Row, Create Separation in Tank-off with Pesky Nets

The Sixers lost their 12th game in a row on Monday night, falling to the Miami Heat by a final score of 117 to 105. Quentin Grimes and Lonnie Walker led the way with 29 points each, but the tanking gods would not be denied as they extended their black tendrils to constrict the local basketball team and it keep it in the bottom five of the NBA standings.
With the Brooklyn Nets winning two of their last four, finally some separation in what has been a fierce tank-off for positioning.
The latest standings:
Two and a half games separating 5th and 6th. The Sixers play in Washington, then home to Atlanta and Chicago to close out the season. The Wizards are cooked, and have been for some time, but the Hawks and Bulls are play-in teams and separated by only one game. Their last few outings will be an exercise in trying to secure home court advantage with the Magic and Heat right there with them.
Brooklyn has to play NOLA, Atlanta, and New York at home, plus the T Wolves on the road. As long as the Sixers don’t screw it up, they’re in good position to finish in the bottom five.
As you know, the Sixers pick goes to the Thunder if it falls outside of the top six. Running the simulator 25 times, I got the following results:
