Sixers Sign Former St. Joe’s Standout Isaiah Miles

The Hawk may never die, though one day it could become a 76er.

That’s what’s happening to forward Isaiah Miles, the four-year starter at St. Joe’s who went undrafted in 2016 and instead began his pro career in Europe. This past season, he played for Limoges CSP, where he made 50 appearances and scored 9.6 points per game while adding 3.7 rebounds and 1.1 assists over 22.9 minutes on average. He was a 41.4% three point shooter for the club.

Miles was the Hawks’ leading scorer and rebounder during his senior season, putting up 18 and 8 a game. St. Joe’s went to the NCAA tournament that year, where they beat Cincinnati before losing to #1 seed Oregon in the second round.

This is an Exhibit 10 contract for Miles, which means it’s a non-guaranteed deal that should seen him play for the Blue Coats. With the Sixers roster pretty much set at 15 players, the expectation is that he’d go down to Delaware with Christ Koumadje and others after spending camp with the Sixers. Exhibit 10 is basically a training camp deal that incentivizes players to stick around and play in the G-League should they be waived after camp. In Miles’ case, his contract could be converted to a two-way deal, though he’d likely be waived and then go down to the Blue Coats and pick up a bonus of up to $50,000 if he sticks around for at least 60 days. The Sixers already have Marial Shayok and Norvel Pelle occupying their two-way slots as it stands, so they can’t add another player on that type of deal.
