Sixers Trade Matisse Thybulle, Get Jalen McDaniels Back in Three-Team Move

Sixers make a move ahead of the deadline:

McDaniels is pretty good. 25 years old, solid defender, only shooting 32.2% from three this year but finished at 38% last year. He was giving Charlotte 10 and 5 this season, mostly off the bench, but he did start 21 games and I’m kind of surprised they moved him. He’s 6’10” with a long wing span and will get out and contest shots. The Sixers did need an athletic wing and he should fit the bill in that department while being an offensive improvement over Matisse.

The big question is this – what happens to the Thybulle mural in Fishtown? Only time will tell. Matisse had a lot of good moments here and had + on/off splits this season, but did he really show a lot of improvement since year one? Did the Sixers not develop him properly? A good exercise here in “what could have been.”
