Stephen A. in good form on a Tuesday morning:

“You talk about a dude who would not shoot the damn basketball. That is the biggest thief. If Ben Simmons runs near a basketball arena, he should be arrested. That’s how bad it was.”

Hear hear!

Let’s not get soft or do revisionist history. Ben Simmons refused to shoot the basketball and then quit on the Sixers. He showed up to practice with his phone in his pocket and got booted out of the gym. Then we heard some stuff about mental health, which, taboo or not, doesn’t change the fact that Ben was a 6’10” freak athlete who couldn’t shoot the ball from further than eight feet. This should have been a title team, but nooooo, he decided to pass the ball to Matisse Thybulle instead of just dunking it. We haven’t seen a waste of potential like this since Anakin Skywalker joined the dark side. The guy was Rookie of the Year and went to three All-Star Games without a jump shot. Imagine what he would have been if he added the one thing missing from his game. And it’s not even that he couldn’t do it, he just straight up refused to try. All of that summer workout video amounted to NOTHING. He could have been the next LeBron or Magic Johnson.
