Here’s an alternative option: shut him down for the season, get the surgery done, if it even exists, and give him the next seven months to recover. Then you give it one more go and see if he can be a semblance of the player he was a few years ago. If not, then it’s over and we move on to the next era of Philadelphia 76ers basketball. It’s time to punt on this season. This is the way.
