The V.J. Edgecombe Post-Draft Interview About Living Off a Generator is Remarkable

This isn’t long, it’s only three minutes, you have to watch it:
“Long nights, long nights, I lived off a generator, had no electricity, I lived off a generator for seven years. See what she (his mom) had to go through to feed us? It’s crazy. It’s crazy. I don’t even know man. My mind is everywhere right now.”
Edgecombe seems like a high-character guy. Already faced a lot of adversity in 19 years. Plays like a dawg on both sides of the court and loves to defend. He told Sixers media on draft night that he hates seeing the other team score, which we also hate. He just came off in general like a mature kid who handles himself well. We’ll see how it translates for the Sixers this year, but Edgecombe seems to have all of the intrinsic Philly-type traits that this city appreciates. And as you know, all you have to do to get off on the right foot is play hard and say the right things, so it shouldn’t be difficult for V.J. to step right in and get going.
