Checking in on Detroit Pistons Reddit:

Tobias needs to come off the bench
byu/KJiggy inDetroitPistons

“He’s been a momentum killing, poor shooting, low IQ, subpar defender. An antithesis of the player we needed and thought we signed.”

Tobias is one of two Detroit players older than 30. The other is Tim Hardaway Jr. Wasn’t the whole point for him to be a two-year veteran bridge to impart some wisdom on the young core? Then he departs at age 34 and you put his $26 million to better use. By that point, you’d think Cade Cunningham, Jaden Ivey, Jalen Duren, Ron Holland, and Ausar Thompson are ready to be a competitor of sorts, assuming they develop into legit NBA players.

Tobias Harris after a small sample size of three games this season:

  • 34 minutes per
  • 33% from the field
  • 21.4% from three
  • 10.3 PPG
  • 6 rebounds per game
  • 2.7 assists per game
  • 1.7 turnovers per game

People will say that it’s early. That’s true. It is early. But Sixers will say that they are not surprised.
