South Jersey Little League Forces Parents That Complain About Calls to Umpire

In Deptford, New Jersey a little league is making parents who fight with umpires ump three games of their own before they can sit in the stands again:

This is brilliant. There are so many of my friend’s dads I wish I had the opportunity to watch get behind the dish and call balls and strikes. I remember my dad did it once for kid pitch when we were nine and retired his chest protector the same day. One to many balls off the shin because the kid catching rather play with the dirt than be a backstop.

The worst part about this punishment is they’re probably going to make you take a class to learn the rules. Who wants to do that? It’s like getting your license suspended or an underage. The worst part isn’t that you can’t drive or have to pay the fine. It’s the bullshit classes you have to take at traffic court to get your license back or the underage off your record. One 8am class for Timmy’s dad learning about chins to shins and we won’t hear a peep out of him for the rest of the season.
