Kalshi works by implementing implied odds, which are essentially a percentage chance that a certain event will happen. There’s no house, so the percentages will line up to 100% for each prediction you make.

That number is far from static – it’ll go up and down several times before the game kicks off. For simplicity’s sake, let’s say you locked in 100 contracts for Miami to win at 25%, which would cost you 25 cents per contract.
