Saint Joe’s Hit a Buzzer-Beater to Clinch Third Place in the Big 5 Classic over Temple

The Big 5 Classic is taking place today inside the Xfinity Mobile Arena, and the action has already delivered. In the fifth place game, the La Salle Explorers defeated the Drexel Dragons 69-64 before the Saint Joe’s Hawks and Temple Owls took to the court to decide the third place winner. It was a back-and-forth affair for much of the game, and came down to the final possession as the Hawks were down by two with 15.8 seconds left after two free throws by Temple’s Jordan Mason. After a short look at the court, Saint Joe’s coach Steve Donahue called a timeout with seven seconds left in regulation.
