The 2026 World Series of Poker has completed its seven-week event.

In total, 100 different tournaments were held in Las Vegas from the Horseshoe Casino and Paris Las Vegas Casino on May 26-July 15.

Pennsylvania and New Jersey have had an impact on the WSOP Main Event, with each state being able to claim a winner. In 2026, each state brought home more bracelets as well. Here’s an update on how players from The Keystone State and The Garden State did in this year’s World Series of Poker, as well as who is left in the final table of the WSOP Main Event, which finishes up play starting on Aug. 3.

2026 WSOP Main Event Updates

The 2026 World Series of Poker Main Event got started on July 2 with over 9,000 contending for the top prize. The $10,000 buy-in for this No Limit Hold’Em is always the most sought after championship each year.

Day 8 saw the field get chipped down to the Final Table of nine players. These players will now wait until Aug. 3 to continue play, with Aug. 3-5 listed as the dates set to determine this year’s Main Event winner.

NJ’s Gagliano Reaches Final 9

Rockaway, New Jersey’s Michael Gagliano is one of the final nine contending for the Main Event title

Gagliano is in fifth place of the remaining nine players. He has $46.5 million in chips as he waits for Aug. 3.

Gagliano has previously won three WSOP bracelet events in his playing career.

New Jersey’s Victor Dong Finishes in the Money After Top 20 Start

Oakland, New Jersey native Victor Dong was off to a good start at this year’s World Series of Poker Main Event.

Dong had been in the “D” pool of the Main Event and through his second day of play, he sat with $620,000 in chips, which ranked ninth among the “D” pool players and 14th overall in the entire player pool.

Starting Wednesday, July 8, Dong and the “D” pool began playing with the rest of the players from pools “A” “B” and “C.” Dong fell to 738th place in the standings after Wednesday, sitting with $202,000 in chips.

On Day 4, Dong would be eliminated, finishing 1,193rd. That earned him $15,000 in prize money.

2026 World Series of Poker Updates

Pennsylvania Native Zipfel wins $1,500 Pot-Limit Omaha Bracelet

Aliquippa native Jason Zipfel claimed the 2026 World Series of Poker bracelet in event No. 35, $1,500 Pot-Limit Omaha.

Zipfel won the four-day tournament on June 13, collecting $441,560 in prize money to go along with 1,013 WSOP Player of the Year points.

This is Zipfel’s first World Series of Poker bracelet and his second time placing in a tournament.

Boalsburg’s Gruneberg Wins Pot-Limit Omaha Event

Zachary Gruneberg of Boalsburg claimed the win in WSOP Event No. 53, the Five Card Pot-Limit Omaha tournament.

Gruneberg won in a pool of 1,300 players over three days to earn his third World Series of Poker bracelet over his career.

He collected a top prize of $271,552 and 870 WSOP Player of the Year points for his win.

New Jersey’s Liberta wins $1.25 Million No-Limit Event

Berlin, NJ native Joseph Liberta collected $1.25 million when he won WSOP Event No. 50, the $1,500 No-Limit Hold’em Millionaire Maker tournament on June 24.

This eight-day tournament saw Liberta survive a field of over 4,000 players.

Along with his financial prize, Liberta also received 1,368 points in the Player of the Year race.

This is Liberta’s first WSOP bracelet victory.

McKeehen Wins 2015 Main Event for Pennsylvania

Pennsylvania is home to win World Series of Poker main event winner. That was Joe McKeehen back in 2015.

A native of North Wales, McKeehen was just 24 at the time he won the top prize of $7.68 million. He topped a field of 6,420 players, coming out on top with a final hand of the Ace of hearts and 10 of diamonds.

McKeehen has went on to win a total of three WSOP bracelets in his career while reaching 23 final tables. WSOP puts his career earnings at over $11.6 million.

Blumstein Gets NJ 2017 Main Event Title

New Jersey also holds claim to a World Series of Poker Main Event title. In 2017, Morristown, New Jersey native Scott Blumstein won the prestigious title.

Born in 1992, Blumstein earned the honor at the age of 25. He won in a first prize of $8,150,000 in a field of 7,221 players.

The winning hand for Blumstein was Ace of hearts and 2 of diamonds.

In his WSOP history, Blumstein has reached three final tables and earned winnings in 35 different events.
