Bruce Campbell of Oregon and a former Detroiter, he grew up in Bloomfield Township with an action figure of himself from his movie Army of Darkness. Campbell played a lead character in the classic horror hit, Evil Dead.
Syndication: Detroit Free Press

I’m willing to bet that a decent portion of Crossing Broad readers are Bruce Campbell fans.

He revealed Tuesday morning that he has an uncurable form of cancer:

Campbell is 67 years old, an actor known for his roles in cult classics like the Evil Dead franchise and Bubba Ho-Tep. He starred on the USA show Burn Notice and is known for his work in a few other series, namely The Adventures of Brisco County Jr., Jack of All Trades, and Hysteria. He made cameo appearances in the Spider-Man film series and voiced a bunch of video game characters while making myriad television appearances during a lengthy career that began in the late 1970s. He’s a common site at conventions and is known for being really cool with fans. He’s just a “movie” guy with all sorts of production work to his credit as well.

You could build an entire Bruce Campbell soundboard with one liners just from Army of Darkness

“Alright you primitive screwheads, listen up! See this? This is my boomstick! It’s a 12-gauge, double-barreled Remington. S-Mart’s top of the line. You can find this in the sporting goods department. That’s right, this sweet baby was made in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Retails for about $109.95. It’s got a walnut stock, cobalt blue steel, and a hair trigger. That’s right. Shop smart, shop S-Mart. YOU GOT THAT?!”

Hopefully Bruce has a lot of good years left in him. Cancer is only doing two things – jack and shit, and jack left town:
