It’s spooky season and we’ve got the scariest Halloween episode around from the most haunted place in Philadelphia: Fort Mifflin. Right on the Delaware River, tucked behind the Philly airport, sit some of the scariest ghosts you’ll ever encounter. Apparently during filming one of the tour guides told us they could hear the footsteps of one of the ghosts that haunts the old Confederate prison. From the Screaming Lady to Jacob Sauer the Blacksmith to the Pratt Family and more a tour guide tells us the stories behind the ghosts that haunt the Fort That Saved America:

I can’t tell you enough how cool this place is and the craziest part is I’d never even heard about it until a month ago. I didn’t know one of the battle that saved America was right down the street from me:

I also didn’t know how much death occurred there during the Revolutionary War, War of 1812, and Civil War, which makes it a prime spot for ghosts. There’s so much history that’s packed into this tiny fort it’s insane. You’re immediately creeped out as soon as you pass through the chain link fence. There are barely any lights on the entire property and it’s covered by swamp water. You can just smell the history on it as soon as you walk in. Than you get into the prisons and you feel a sense of dread come over you. Like it’s a place you’re not supposed to be. I never got comfortable in there the entire podcast. You could just feel an eerie chill on your back knowing plenty of Confederate prisoners met their demise in there. It’s wild. That’s before you even get into the planes that fly into Philly International. It feels like you can almost touch them. If night time isn’t your thing they have plenty of day tours as well that are awesome.
