Geno’s is expanding their cheesesteak reach south to Baltimore:

The cheesesteak shop will be in downtown Baltimore at the Power Plant Live!, which is their version of Stateside Live! They’ll also open a location in Hampton, Virginia.

I’ve said it once I’ll say it again. I don’t care which cheesesteak joint you prefer in the city. It’s mind-numbing, Neanderthal conversation at this point. You like Pat’s? Awesome. You prefer Angelo’s or Geno’s? That’s great. A lot of people are loving newcomers like Skinny Joey’s. I think the fact that you can get a good cheesesteak anywhere you go in this city is the better story. A rising tide lifts all ships. I’m more interested in the Cheesesteak Wars! I’ve got my eye on the whiz-slinging between Skinny’s and Pat’s that took place in September:

It’s been all quiet on the Southeastern front, but we’re just waiting for someone to fire the next shot. There’s a very good chance it’ll come from Joey Merlino the next time he gets an interview via Victor Fiorillo at Philly Mag:

What is the second-best cheesesteak in Philly? The current viral sensation is Angelo’s. What’s your review?

I’ve never been to Angelo’s. And I’m never setting foot in Angelo’s. [At this point, Merlino goes into a long and winding and profanity-filled tirade about Angelo’s owner Danny DiGiampietro that, for the sake of length and out of legal concerns, we’ll leave between the two of them.]

I just watched Mob Wars on Netflix. Amazing documentary. I thought I knew some about the 90s Mob War and it turns out I didn’t know shit. I don’t care if Skinny is in the cheesesteak game now and retired down to Florida, I still wouldn’t fuck with him.

Anyway, speaking of Angelo’s, it’s been a big couple of days for cheesesteaks. Big Dom dropped some off to Cam Skattebo after his surgery:

Love it. Butter him up so when the first contract is done and the Giants let another running back walk right into Howie Roseman’s arms.
