Is CSN Serious With This?

Yeah, yeah, I know– but you have surveys. The surveys are way better than this, and I have a subscriber alternative coming within the next week. But this is just a brutal experience. Go to CSN, click on any article, and you’re immediately met with an autoplay video you didn’t want to watch, and most likely won’t watch. Or go to their video page and you get hit with a DOUBLE AUTOPLAY VIDEO-AUDIO SPLASH AD COMBO. It’s like the web page is actively trying to F you. It’s not an ad network quirk either. Sure, sometimes you’ll be hit with an autoplay video ad with audio here, but it’s typically the result of something that slipped through the ad network. CSN does it frequently. It’s intentional. And what’s more is that it’s not just a bad user experience, but it’s also cheating advertisers. Unlike the surveys, which I don’t get paid for unless you answer, those ads pay for the view even if you click away. So Comcast doesn’t only not give a shit about you, the reader, but also the advertiser, since I’m guessing about 80% of people click away almost immediately when hit with something like this. Absolute garbage.
