Sports media news:

Marks joined PHLY officially in August of 2024. That was following his much-talked about WIP departure at the end of 2023, in which he outlined a few reasons for walking away from a successful PM drive show, among them quality of life, family, and, to a lesser extent, money. For about a year he hosted the Philly Philly show, which aired at 8 a.m. ahead of Anthony Gargano’s show and featured former 97.5 the Fanatic host Tyler Zulli.

Jon didn’t reveal what these news plans are (assuming he has plans). Maybe we put together a shortlist for the Crossing Broad sportsbook. You can’t rule out a radio return, be it here or elsewhere, maybe real estate with John Bolaris, Susan Barnett, and seemingly everyone who pivots out of Philadelphia media entirely. Public relations is a typical landing spot for former media people as well.

Speaking of PHLY, I believe a lot of the original group of talent is coming up on two years now, so some contracts will be expiring. Some will be renewed. I anticipate at least a couple of changes ahead of football season.
