Mike Miss checking in on social after he was let go by the Fanatic on Friday:

1/2. For the folks who’ve noticed I’m not on the air today…I was informed after last Friday’s show that I was being let go as part of the company’s ongoing budget cuts. I had planned to retire (with a lil dignity) at the end of my contract next February.

2/2. Unfortunately, now I won’t be able to do that. I want to thank the many people who listened to me over the years, and the great colleagues with whom I worked. I appreciate every single one of you. It was a blast. What’s next? Podcast world? Who knows. God speed. Go Birds.

Mike is almost 70 and doesn’t have to do anything at all. He could have retired years ago if he wanted to.

After his first Fanatic departure, he launched a podcast for BetRivers and did the ill-fated Eagles show for JAKIB Media. He had the winery thing and was dabbling in a cooking show as well. He did a handful of different things between the summers of 2022 and 2024.

The podcast was pretty good and he had some interesting guests and interesting shows that were worth listening to. What if, and hear me out, but what if he teamed up with Howard “The King” Eskin for the podcast granddaddy of them all? Who wouldn’t listen to that? They might strangle each other 2 episodes in, but it would be great theater.
