New Look

As you can tell, the site got a little bit of a redesign. The layout remains virtually the same – everything is in the same place – but the new template is lighter and cleaner, dare I say it steps out of the way and defers to the fine snark and dick jokes (did I do that right, Jony Ive?). Fonts are larger and more readable on all devices . The content area is wider. Share buttons are sharier. Navigation is simpler and more obvious. Search is more prominent. And the design is incredibly responsive– go ahead, try it on your phone or tablet. The layout is also more functional than the last one when it comes to embedding videos and images.
Might be a slow day around here today as I deal with some of the quirks. There’s only so much you can do in a testing environment before you have to just push it live and make necessary adjustments. Things being worked on:
- Adding a comment link below the posts
- In some cases, ads in the sidebar are shifting to the bottom, below the footer, on a full-width layout (and I have no idea why)
- UPDATE: The header will be shrunk
- In some configurations, the headlines get cut off mid-word
Your feedback is welcomed. Please let me know in the comments, email, Twitter if there are any glaring issues.
Oh, and in other site news: Quagmire starts on June 9.
