North Penn Baseball Lost the State Title Game on a Balk-Off

Rough way to lose:
It’s the right call, though there was a lot of chatter about the umpire deciding to make it. You’ll find that the voices in opposition think he should have let it slide because this game is being played at the high school level. “You can’t end the game with that call!” Those opinions were floating around out there. Maybe there’s something to that argument, maybe not, but if North Penn miraculously escapes a bases-loaded, no outs situation in the 13th inning, and comes back to somehow win, what are you thinking if you’re Cedar Cliff? You’re thinking you got screwed. You did get screwed. So as anticlimactic as this was, and as much of a bummer as it was for the Knights, the ump did what he’s paid to do.
