Philadelphia Is About to Smell a Whole Lot Worse if the Trash Strike Continues

At midnight District 33 went on strike for the first time in 40 years. That means there are 9,000 city employees that do everything from answer the phone when you call 911 to street maintenance to trash pick-up who will now not be doing those jobs until there is a new contract:
“But the streets department already doesn’t work!” Zing!
The Mayor is asking people not to pile up their garbage in front of their house. People are already not listening:
Imagine the sights and smells as garbage is piling up on the sidewalks over a 4th of July weekend if they’re not able to hammer out a deal. You think that Philly smell hits during a 90° degree day add sewage. Back in July of 1986 the workers went on strike for 20 days. Can the Mayor get a deal in order before then or will we have the Great Trash Pile-Up in front of the Linc?
There are temporary dumpsters set up all over the city for you to dump trash. Fucking garbage business. We need a waste management sitdown:
