Phillies Acquire Another Old Guy From Seattle
By Kyle Scott
Published:
The Phillies have traded for Mariners first basemen Mike Sweeney. Sweeney is 37 and batted .263 with 6 HRs and 18 RBIs this season.
Manuel said he will be the starting first basemen in Howard’s absence.
The trade is for a player to be named later or cash. And that folks is how you know you have no value.
I’m not going to make a Cliff Lee joke here. But I’d like too…
Sweeney will at least give the Phils some right-handed pop.
