The fryerz are coming! The fryerz are coming!

After months –nay, YEARS– of waiting, Sheetz will finally land in Montco. Resident Wawa sympathizer Kevin “Daryl Morey can do no wrong” Kinkead penned a story back in February that Sheetz had submitted plans for a location in Limerick Township near the Limerick Diner.

As an intrepid reporter, I can confirm that the planned site at 454 West Ridge Pike received final development approval back at the June 3rd, 2025, council meeting. Did Crossing Broad get this confirmed via the township’s agenda and minutes? Of course not. We sleuthed and found video of the meeting for your viewing pleasure:

One important correction to Kinker’s prior story is the location. The proposed Sheetz is, in fact, not across from the Limerick Diner. It’s across the street from a Wawa:

(Kinkead: same fuckin’ thing, it’s diagonal and like 500 feet away from the Limerick Diner. They built a new roundabout here and the traffic flow from Swamp Pike is slightly different.)

Prepare the bannermen. Sound the horns of battle. As we all know, competition is great news for consumers. A monopoly on gas station food – with all due respect to Royal Farms and their lovely chicken – is good for no one. Remember the Monday Night Wars? WWF Monday Night Raw was at its best when it was opposed by WCW Monday Nitro. Hopefully the Sheetz invasion, which also includes a Downingtown location, will give Wawa a kick in the ass.

Let’s be honest for a second. Can we be honest? Wawa’s quality has dropped in recent years. I grew up in Sheetz country. Some stuff has gotten better, some stuff has been replaced. It happens. Wawa, however, decided to start hocking pizzas. Who asked for that. Burgers? Why? In fact, some of their menu diversification has led to them dropping items from their menu, which I covered in detail over on The Russ Joy Show:

Wawa and Sheetz can live in harmony. I’ll give Wawa the nod on hoagies, even with the acknowledgment that their quality isn’t what it was when I moved into this area in 2008. Sheetz gets the easy win on fried food. Sorry, Wawa, baking your fries and chicken tendies is largely unacceptable.

Whenever Sheetz opens in Limerick, I’ll welcome Pagan up for an updated Wawa vs. Sheetz video. Hopefully by then, he’ll no longer have the palate of a 3-year-old.
