The Barstool Sansom Antisemitism Story Has Gone Completely Off the Rails

Man I didn’t think this story would have this many legs. I thought we’d talk about it for 24-48 hours, this Mo Khan kid would go on his trip to Auschwitz, and we’d all move on. I didn’t think it would devolve into him asking for money and fighting against cancel culture:
If you missed what happened over the weekend, someone ordered a bottle service sign at Barstool’s Philadelphia location that said “fuck the Jews” on it. Barstool founder Dave Portnoy came out with a video the next day claiming that he had talked to the alleged perpetrators, Khan being one of them, and volunteered to turn it into a learning experience by sending them to Auschwitz in Poland. Khan was suspended by Temple University and then, in this twist, came out against Portnoy, saying he was not actually involved in ordering the sign but showed it on Instagram as a “citizen journalist.” The Poland offer was revoked, and here we are now.
One minute he’s saying he didn’t have anything to do with it, the next he’s saying it’s an edgy joke, shouldn’t face any repercussions, and that he’s a citizen journalist capturing the moment.
On top of that, he then did an appearance with Stew Peters, a known antisemite and far-right conspiracy theorist, who in this video clip calls Portnoy a “disgusting Jew” –
Call me crazy, but if I was trying to save my college career or give myself any chance of getting a corporate job in the future, I wouldn’t choose the white supremacist guy’s show to go on first. He could’ve gone on Channel 6, NBC10, CBS3, or FOX 29. They’d bend over backwards to get the first interview from this kid. But who does he choose? Stew Peters. What’s the play here? Short monetary gain? Khan’s original tweet has 7 million views and he’s raised $11k. This kid is an idiot. He’s straight out of Jew-hating central casting. I can’t believe this is actually the first time he was caught up in some dumb shit like this and I’m disgusted he ever was allowed to go to Temple.
I’ll be honest, I didn’t think we were going to get the complete 180. Whoever is advising this guy is also an idiot. Truly getting some of the worst advice I’ve ever seen. He had a chance to gradually put his life back together. Time heals all wounds blah, blah, blah. Listen, people screw up, especially college kids. But now he’s swung the pendulum so far he better dive headfirst into his new right wing character or he’s screwed forever.
Here’s Portnoy’s latest response:
