About two months ago, we found out that the Philadelphia Wings were leaving for greener lax-tures, but we didn’t know where that would be or what they would be called. Now, we do.

The former Philadelphia Wings are now the New England Black Wolves, named so because:

“In ancient times, the Mohegan Tribe was part of the ‘Wolf Clan’ of the Delaware Indian Nation, making its way down through New York State in pursuit of the resources of the Connecticut shoreline. Now, over 400 years later, the wolves are back in a new way on that shoreline – giving a team name and a new team spirit to Mohegan territory.”

Oh, and also because the team is involved in a partnership with the Mohegan Sun and the Mohegan Tribal Gaming Authority and will play their games at Mohegan Sun Arena in Montville, Connecticut. If you feel the need to follow the team up there, you can call this very real and very hilarious phone number: 844.LAX.WOLF. In fact, you should just call 844.LAX.WOLF anyway, because 844.LAX.WOLF is possibly the greatest phone number of all time.
