This is the Funniest Penalty Kick I’ve Ever Seen

This video just came across my desk. It’s important:
So damn funny. Everything about this video is excellent. Allow me to rattle off a few details I particularly enjoyed:
All the Stuff in This Video That I Think is Exceptionally Good:
- The headliner here, of course, is the guy’s approach to the ball. He goes full tiptoe. Full Scooby-Doo tiptoe. Full Tom-and-Jerry-sneaking-around-that-big-dog-that’s-around-sometimes tiptoe. Full twinkly-sound-effect tiptoe:
- He’s doing a good amount of exaggerated shoulder movements during the tiptoe.
- The shoulder movements add a lot.
- Looks like when you stand behind something waist-high and start moving your shoulders/slowly ducking to make it look like you’re walking down some stairs:
- He tiptoes toward the ball so slow.
- It takes him 17 seconds to get to the ball. Just checked the time. 0:17 is when he gets there.
- When you add it all together (the tiptoe, the shoulder movements, the slow speed), it looks like a walk one would do on their way to tickle someone.
- Went full tickle-walk toward the goalie.
- “I’m-gonna-getcha”-ass walk.
- Meanwhile, the goalie stays so locked in the whole time. He’s doing happy feet for the full 17 seconds he’s waiting.
- There is no one in the stands.
- The amount of time it takes for him to reach the ball allows the eye to wander a bit and clock just had depressingly empty the stands are.
- This makes it better.
- Would be less funny if there was cheering/taunting/noise of any kind.
- Tiptoeing is done best in silence/stillness.
- The shot is so bad.
- He kicks it right at the goalie.
- If you’re gonna do a very slow, dumb-as-hell tiptoe approach, you gotta put the ball in the net.
- The kicker knows it, too.
- He can’t believe he didn’t score.
- Look at his reaction after he misses:

- “No… How did I miss the tiptoe kick… I did everything right… I walked so slow… As if the prospect of tickling was on my mind…”

Chin up, my friend. The end result was better than a goal. You gave us a good tiptoe video. Thank you.
