A good portion of news outlets went wall-to-wall with their coverage after Tiger Woods was involved in a serious car crash on Tuesday in Los Angeles.

Later, at 12:30 a.m. Eastern Time, we got this update in a statement posted to the golfer’s official Twitter account:

“Comminuted open fractures”

This means the bone was broken or splintered into more than two fragments. Sounds really damn painful, but it seems as though the doctors were right on top of this and that Tiger got top-notch care at UCLA.

We don’t have any details regarding the cause of the crash. All we know is that Woods rolled his car and nobody else was involved or hurt. The injuries were described on Tuesday afternoon as non-life threatening, which was a welcome update considering we had no idea how bad this was when it happened.

More information coming today, for sure.
