We’re hiring at CB for a junior content specialist.

Here’s the job description:

WORK LOCATION: Must live in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, or Delaware – this is remote, but we attend various events in Philadelphia and its suburbs.

ABOUT US:

This is a rare opportunity to work full-time for Crossing Broad, Philadelphia’s irreverent sports blog. We’re looking for a dedicated sports fan to write blog posts and create social media content – someone who lives and breathes Eagles, Phillies, Flyers, Sixers, Union, Big 5 basketball, and regional culture.

THE CHALLENGE:

As junior content specialist, you will write multiple daily blog posts about Philadelphia sports, regional culture, legal sports betting, and prediction markets. You will contribute to our social media platforms while looking for unique and creative story angles that other outlets aren’t pursuing. Expect to attend local events with some regularity, not as a beat writer, but as a flexible jack-of-all-trades who can identify the offbeat things that make the region unique.

ABOUT YOU:

  • Strong knowledge of Philadelphia sports
  • 2 to 3 years of experience in journalism or content creation
  • The ability to write in a casual blog style, 5-7 posts per day on average
  • Social media skills and experience (X, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube)
  • Must be able to offer predictions for Philly sports games, and other massive sporting events throughout the year
  • Must have at least a basic understanding of legal sports betting apps and event trading platforms (prediction markets) & comfortability tying Philly sports predictions into betting markets
  • On-camera experience is helpful
  • Cannot be a Cowboys, Mets, or Celtics fan

This job requires personality, levity, and a fan-first approach to sports. We’re looking for an assertive grinder who loves Philly sports – someone who is a self-starter with a strong work ethic. The hire will have a lot of creative freedom in this job and the opportunity to generate and pitch their own ideas while working with a small staff that has carved out a niche foothold in a competitive space.

If you are a journalist who expects to write 4-5 stories a week while traveling to the games and simply enjoying the experience, this is not the role for you.

Hours:  Normally Monday to Friday, 9 to 5 with the expectation of nights, weekends, and potentially some holidays based on team schedules. The person will need to work Sundays during the Eagles’ season and adjust hours as necessary.

OUR OFFER:

  • collaborative environment with colleagues from all over the world (Offices in Europe, Asia and US) including various social events and teambuilding.
  • Flexibility to manage your workday and tasks with autonomy.
  • A balance of structure and autonomy to tackle your daily tasks.
  • Vibrant and inclusive community, including Women in Tech and Pride groups which welcome all participants.
  • Global Employee Assistance Programme.
  • Calm and Reulay app (leading well-being apps designed to support focus, quality rest, mindfulness, and long-term mental resilience).
  • Online training videos
  • Flexible working hours.

While we appreciate the flexibility and benefits of working from home, we strongly believe that coming together in person fosters stronger connections, encourages collaboration, and drives innovation—both as individuals and as a company. The energy, shared ideas, and team support we experience in the office strengthen the foundation of our success and culture. For this reason, we are an office-first business operating on a hybrid model, with team members working in the office three days a week to build relationships, exchange ideas, and grow together.

OUR RECRUITMENT PROCESS:

  • Initial Screening: A quick chat with our Talent Acquisition Partner to understand your background and expectations.
  • Technical Interview: Meet with the Hiring Manager to dive into your experience, and also discuss team fit.
  • Finals Steps: Receive feedback and, if successful, an offer!

Pay Range: $50K – $60K

Feel free to throw your hat in the ring. It’s gonna be writing heavy with social media and maybe some other responsibilities. Like the description says, we need a motivated grinder who lives and breathes Philly sports and local culture. We do a lot with a very small staff and we’re dedicated to the irreverent blogging game. It’s a really good group and a really chill group.
