After Friday’s World Cup draw, the schedule was completed on Saturday afternoon and Philadelphia will host the following Group Stage games:

  • Sunday, June 14th: Ivory Coast vs. Ecuador, 7 p.m.
  • Friday, June 19th: Brazil vs. Haiti, 9 p.m.
  • Monday, June 22nd: France vs. Iraq, Bolivia, or Suriname, 5 p.m.
  • Thursday, June 25th: Ivory Coast vs. Curacao, 4 p.m.
  • Saturday, June 27th: Croatia vs. Ghana 5 p.m.

There’s also a July 4th Group of 16 game at Lincoln Financial Field, with teams obviously yet to be determined.

This is a somewhat underwhelming slate for Philly. We get Brazil on a Friday night, which rocks. We also get powerhouse France, albeit at 5 p.m. on Monday. Ivory Coast and Ecuador will be pretty rad in the parking lots, but we missed out on Germany and England and got a repeat team with the Ivorians in town twice. We also got some of the competition’s minnows in Haiti and Curacao, who will likely get hammered in their games. France will also clobber their opponent, but hey, you never know.

Only two European teams on this schedule, but the South American, African, and Caribbean flair in Philly will be pretty cool. Otherwise this is just a bang-average draw.
