Zach Gelb and Jody Mac Swept Up in Infinity Sports Network Takeover and Rebrand
Temple product Zach Gelb is out of a job and WIP veteran Jody McDonald is losing his national weekend shifts as a result of the Infinity Sports Network and Westwood one reshuffle:
The background here is a little confusing because of numerous acquisitions and name changes over more than a decade, so I’ll lay it out in the most basic way:
- Back in 2012, CBS partnered with Westwood One, which was owned by a company called Cumulus Media.
- The partnership created CBS Sports Radio, a national network that was programmed by CBS itself, which later became Entercom, and then Audacy.
- CBS Sports Radio eventually re-branded as Infinity Sports Network in the spring of 2024.
- Two months ago, in October, Audacy and Cumulus announced a merger between Infinity Sports Network and the BetMGM network.
- As a result, Audacy will no longer program Infinity Sports Network, with Westwood One taking over instead, rebranding as Westwood One Sports.
- That means the talent slate is being wiped clean, which is why Gelb is out of a job and Jody is no longer doing his national weekend shifts.
There was a lot of Philly and New York crossover with CBS Sports Radio/Infinity Sports Network, due in part to Audacy being headquartered in Philadelphia and owning WIP and WFAN. In fact, Jody Mac was the only personality to work for the network from start to finish, 13 years total between 2012 and 2025. Gelb worked there full time for almost eight full years between 2018 and now.
The full lineup for Westwood One Sports hasn’t been announced yet.
Barrett Sports Media reported this earlier in December:
Cumulus Media has announced that two BetMGM Network programs will remain on the new Westwood One Sports network beginning at the end of the month. You Better You Bet with Nick Kostos will move from afternoon drive to late-mornings airing from 9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. ET. Also BetMGM Tonight, hosted by Brad Evans and a to-be-named BetMGM Network host, will air from 6:00–11:00 p.m. ET. The BetMGM Network programming making the shift will continue to be produced by Audacy.
