Kevin Willard Could be the Man to Fill the John Tortorella Quote Void After Declaring that Villanova is Not Good on Offense or Defense Right Now

Great quote here from Villanova’s Kevin Willard, who got his first win on Saturday against Queens University, which is apparently an Atlantic Sun school in Charlotte, North Carolina:

You gotta appreciate the honestly from Willard. Can we call him K Will? We’ll test that out on the blog and see if it sticks.
One of the things that was really disappointing about the John Tortorella firing was that we lost the best quote in town. Rick Tocchet hasn’t said anything remotely interesting this season, other than asking his guys to shoooooot the puck more. Nick Sirianni is boring now and Nick Nurse press conferences are good for napping. Topper gets you a decent quote every so often, but he’s not exactly Jim Mora in front of a camera. Torts used to give us gems, like “I don’t know Cutter Gauthier from a hole in the wall” and “I think it’s a bunch of bullshit” when asked for his thoughts on morning skate. Torts also once famously said that “we suck, we haven’t forechecked, we haven’t done anything.” We really miss Torts.
I think we had some baseline familiarity with K Will from his time at Seton Hall and Maryland, and we knew he was a little bit of a dick. Nothing wrong with being a dick if you win games. See: Payton, Sean, and his New Orleans Saints. And dicks usually provide good quotes, so here’s hoping Willard steps into Torts’ shoes.
