Uselessness: Jason Kelce’s Sweet Mustache, Max Talbot Rapels from Building

Kyle Scott - November 2, 2012

Sports!

Jason Kelce is done for the year, meaning his beard has lost whatever imagined powers it had in helping the Eagles out to a 2-0 start this year. So, he shaved it (for charity, of course). Now he is the early leader for Movember with, well, this:

Beautiful. Sadly, that may be the most likable thing about the Eagles right now… the mustache of an IRed center. Cool.

Meanwhile, in other non-playing news, Max Talbot rappelled from a Center City building today:

It was all part of a stunt for the Preston and Steve Show to raise money for the Philadelphia Outward Bound program. Later today, Mayor Nutter will do the same thing.

Go Sixers.

Jason Kelce is Done for the Season

Kyle Scott - September 18, 2012

Well, so much for the sunshiny 4-6 weeks outlook. The Eagles announced today that Jason Kelce is, in fact, done for the season. He will have surgery to repair a partially torn ACL.

Yesterday, trainer Rick Burkholder told reporters that the Eagles would wait for Kelce’s torn MCL to heal before making a decision about his ACL, but… plans change, it seems.

The Eagles placed Kelce on injured reserved and added Steve Vallos to take his spot. Dallas Reynolds, who Marcus Hayes wrote a a beautiful sonnet about, will get a chance to start at center this weekend for the Birds.

NBA Over/Under Wins That You Might Want to Check Out

The NBA season is upon us and hope springs eternal for all most fan bases. The sportsbooks aren’t emotionally invested in your teams and don’t care if your first round draft pick is once again shelved to start the season. I, however, take the over/under numbers they set and cross-reference it with the human element: old faces in new places (Melo on the Rockets), moronic trades for watered-down stars (Trae Young isn’t even diet Steph Curry),

Jason Kelce Has a Torn MCL, Partially Torn ACL

Kyle Scott - September 17, 2012

Not good news for Jason Kelce and his beard.

Eagles trainer Rick Burkholder told reporters today that Kelce has a torn MCL and a partially torn ACL.

The Eagles will wait the 4-6 weeks for the MCL to heal before deciding whether or not the partially torn ACL will need to be repaired, which would end Kelce’s season: [via Eagles 24/7]

“From there, we’ll determine our treatment plan, which could either be four-to-six week rehab and bracing and continue to play, or to do his ACL reconstruction four to six weeks from now,” Burkholder said.

ACL’s don’t usually just heal on their own. But, the MCL has to heal first, according to Burkholder, so there’s no harm in waiting.

As Marcus Hayes annoyingly wrote today, Kelce’s replacement, Dallas Reynolds, wasn’t half bad.

So says Jason Kelce's Twitter.

He’s joking here (we think), but I’d imagine that there’s some sort of PR schooling that most professional athletes have to sit through where they’re told “don’t joke about race, anywhere… it never ends well." Plus, this was preceded by all those jokes about women and stuff.

Jason Kelce Would Like You to Not Voice Your Displeasure with His Shitty Coach

Kyle Scott - October 13, 2011

The Eagles stink right now. The defense stinks. The coach stinks. The yet-to-be-hired defensive consultant stinks. Swoop stinks. And, perhaps most notably in this case, the offensive line stinks.

On Good Day Philadelphia this morning, Jason Kelce said he threatened to take down the “Time to go, Andy” banner that was displayed by Eagles protesters outside of the NovaCare Complex on Monday:

“No, didn’t get rough with anybody. We asked them to take it down, and we did say, if you don’t take it down, we might get out and take it down."

“But to all the people and the naysayers, and the critics and everybody, and the media that are bashing us, I don’t really got a lot of respect for them, but right now, we are out there just trying to get it corrected, and trying to be loyal to the head coach, right now.”

When asked about it on Twitter?
