Ezekiel Elliott Could Be Suspended For Six Games
By Kyle Scott
Published:

Ezekiel Elliott suspension news could come at any minute now, and there is a groundswell of implication that it could be longer than expected. Adam Schefter and Ian Rapppppppppppopopopopoport are both floating “6 games”:
NFL investigating Ezekiel Elliott for domestic violence. DV violations are 6 games; can be increased or decreased depending on circumstances

When Zeke Elliott learns his fate, the expectation is it includes discipline. The benchmark is 6 games, could be fewer. Fine possible, too
— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) August 11, 2017
Meanwhile, Cris Carter has mentioned that it could be more than two.
If the league determines Elliott violated their rules on domestic violence, the punishment is an automatic six games.
Schefter and Rapppppopoport may just be reporting that fact, but their similar Tweets this morning give off the vibe that the league may be trying to soften the blow (or shock) of the announcement.
In case you’re wondering, the Eagles don’t play the Cowboys over their first six games, but the Cowboys would have to get through the Giants, Broncos, Cardinals, Rams, Packers and 49ers without Elliott if he were to be suspended for six games. The karma backwash, sophomore slump year is going to be strong with these Cowboys.
