Inquirer Eagles beat reporter Jeff McLane, who was once punched by his colleague Les Bowen, tweeted that the Eagles will hire Todd Bowles to be defensive backs coach and Juan Castillo will stay on as defensive coordinator.

Just a moment later (three minutes to be exact), Eagles mouthpiece Dave Spadaro tweeted: The Eagles have Todd Bowles in for an interview on Monday for a vacancy as a defensive backs coach in charge of cornerbacks.

Thanks, Dave Spadaro. I think the cat is already out of the bag.

Bowen and Tim McManus confirmed McLane’s report.
