Villanova’s Game-Winner From Every Angle

I could watch this until my ears bleed. Villanova had no right winning that game– they trailed by double-digits or close to it for what seemed like the entire game. They couldn’t get anything to fall, weren’t able to get good looks near or far from the basket, and were STYMIED by a pesky Virginia team that seemed to answer every attempt at a comeback with a back-breaking basket.

And then the National Champions arrived.

Three threes over the span of one minute and eight seconds, erasing a 10-point deficit just like that, before eventually winning it on a tip in by Donte DiVincenzo, who might be the next Villanova stud and will play in the NBA one day. Watch this space.

Here are the videos– I’m so honored to have witnessed a simultaneous Gus Johnson-(@TitanicHoops) moment live:

Side note: People were giving me shit about my seats. First, they were in the third row of the second level– not exactly the rafters. Second, they were $100 each, yesterday morning, and that was by far the cheapest price for comparable seats on StubHub in months what with this being the largest crowd to ever watch a college basketball game at the Wells Fargo Center. That’s what happens when highly successful Villanova and Virginia grads take over a building– market influences, prices go up.
