Breaking: Phillies Activate Chase Utley from Disabled List

 

The Phillies announced just a short time ago that Chase Utley has been activated from the 15 day DL.  In order to make room for Utley on the active roster, Greg Dobbs was designated for assignment.

Chase continues to prove he is THE MAN by returning from injuries well ahead of schedule. Every Phillies fan hopes Utley goes on a tear as he did back in 2007 when he returned from a broken hand. The time off should keep Utley fresh for the remainder of the season and through the playoffs.

This is the second time Greg Dobbs has been designated for assignment this year. If he clears waivers and agrees to play for the Iron Pigs, he will likely be a September call-up when rosters expand. Every Phillies fan will miss his long swing, inability to hit a ball out of the infield, and failure to regain his 2008 form.
