To borrow a line from reader Jack: Mr. Holmgren, tear down that wall!
If you estimate that first mention of the gag order on Ilya Bryzgalov came at around 9 AM yesterday, and then check timestamps on Tweets from Sam Carchidi and Tim Panaccio last night, you can deduce that the asinine policy lasted less than 12 hours-- it was sort of the Kim Kardashian of media policies.
Sorry, just had to get in a shot at KK today.
Last night, after a call between Kevin Allen - president of the Philadelphia Hockey Writers Association - and the Flyers, the team reversed their policy, meaning that our long national funny Russian guy nightmare is over. Bryz will be available to speak to the media each. and. every. day. I don’t know about you, but today’s availability should be a blast...

Sam Carchidinis a butt pirate

"Sorry, just had to get in a shot at KK today."
Really, who hasn't had a shot at KK?

This whole thing is stupid. Do people really care THIS much about Bryzgalov's comedy routine with assholes like Panaotch? Sure, its funny and I get that it makes for good blog posts, but hes here to play hockey! Whoever pulled the plug yesterday, whether it be the front office or Bryz, it was done for a reason...Maybe, just maybe, it was done for the good of Bryz and the good of the team. They should've just LET IT GO!
I didn't even know that we got that many important statements from the players at practice. It's nothing that's going to differ drastically from the last postgame, so who cares? Bryzgalov is here for goaltending and goaltending only.
These sports writers need to get off their high horses and realize that they're not as significant as they think they are. I don't care if Mike Richards ignored the media. Even if he shouldn't have, it wasn't Panotchs place to start sparring with him for no good reason. Who cares if the media was butthurt over Bryz/the flyers not wanting him to speak to the media? Just because these guys have access to the team doesn't mean they're a part of it or that they should have this much influence on it. Again, if it's in his and the team's best interest then the writers should've just LET IT GO!
I get that the writers are the outlet to the fans, but I'm not going to keel over and die by not being able to read a Bryz quote every god damn day. Besides, he's still going to sound off after games, and it's not like they don't have guys like Prongs and Jagr to provide them with funny quotes.

Anybody else think that's one beast hoodie?

I love the fact that Bryz is that typical Russian guy. He's great... at speaking... just ok in goal.
