The stupidity of the human race rarely ceases to amaze me.
New Jersey assemblyman Charles Mainor, a detective in Jersey City, is, apparently, a Giants fan. Yesterday, while at a friends' house watching Manning Face edge the Discount Double Check, Mainor decided to talk a bit of trash on his Facebook page, which is currently marked as "private":
We are not going to just lay down, we come to play. Who the hell do you think we are the DALLAS COWGIRLS OR THOSE GAYBIRDS FROM PHILLY…NO WE ARE THE NEW YORK GIANTS.”
Doh. Gaybirds is a term that rarely flies when used by elected officials… especially those who are Democrats.
Mainor even fumbled his someone else wrote it excuse by claiming that he began to write the status but his friend finished it and pressed enter, unbeknownst to him. Yeah, OK. [NJ.com]
Mainor was in Jersey City last night at a party to watch the Giants play the Green Bay Packers when he posted almost the entire above message on his Facebook page, he said. A friend of his sat at the computer and added the comment about the “gaybirds from Philly,” Mainor said.
“I have to take full responsibility because it was under my name,” he said. “I have no excuse, other than me not looking before he did send the post.”
Don't you just hate it when you pause mid-status update then your friend makes homophobic remarks and presses enter?
