Ryan Madson Will Have Tommy John Surgery

It sure looks like the Phillies made the right decision to sign Jonathan Papelbon now.

According to John Fay of the Cincinatti Enquirer, Ryan Madson will have Tommy John surgery. He says the "ligament was torn off the bone." Ouch.

Could Ruben Amaro Jr. have known something back in early January? Scott Boras says the Phillies backed out of the deal, which Rube denied. Maybe The Big Poker knew something the rest of the baseball world didn't.

Just a thought.

  1. You don’t predict ligament tearing off the bone. It was just luck. It could have happened to anybody at any time. There are no signs of that.

  2. Phillies sure seem to know when to ditch pitchers!

Ruben Amaro is so fucking stupid. Pube Amaro should be ran the fuck outta town for this catastrophe! I’d rather have a healthy Ryan madden next year than an aged, decaying pile of shit Pablebon. Pubes Amaro can rub his cigar smoked tongue on my coarse, sandy, malignant, lacerated, 2 inch boner. This phillies team would be MUCH better off with the eagles front office than pubes Amaro. Hecan go stick his spongy cock into diarRHEA Hughes pus filled leathery cunt.

I would agree that Amaro could not have known about Madson and his arm woes. Yeah, this was just a case of dumb luck on his part.

  9. Amaro couldnt have known anything they offered madson like 40 million dollars.

  13. Madson and Papelbon were born in the same year. This move is now more validated than before. Can you imagine having Madson as closer and going out for season….kiss 2012 goodbye if he was.

    HAHAHA they said Ryan Madden!

  19. Name me one move that Amaro has made that any Tom, Dick, or Harry GM couldn’t. He’s made plenty of shitty decisions. Get off his nuts Kyle.
Gillick was a ninja, and he won us a world series by picking up players like jayson Werth and paying him peanuts while he performed like an all-star.
The “Big Poker” is a likable guy, but he’s made some lousy moves as a GM.

  20. Madison’s wife is a cuint bitch

  21. Rube planned this, he’s gonna bring back Madson next year for next to nothing now

Rumor is chase is announcing his retirement tomorrow

  23. Mark my words. This team will never be champions ever again if Cholly and Pube keep letting guys like Masson go. They let lee go, but that was different because her cunt started bleeding. Worst management in baseball. Utleys the worst. Give that guy a wheelchair before he falls down and brakes his dick.

only the dumbest mot shortsighted of fans thought that it had to be madson or paplebons terrible contract….the closer market this year was loaded and every except paplebon got below market value years and dollars
but forget that….big picture wise closer is irrelevant on this team
madson was 32 for 34 last year….whoever was gonna close this year fort he phils was gonna be a little better or a little worse than madsons 32 for 34
the closer this year wasnt going to make a lick of difference in where this team finishes…
their offense will be horrific and they will miss the playoffs or their offense will be just good enough to make and lose in the playoffs again….
the end result does not change regardess of who the closer is….which is why among other reasons paplebons contract was ludacris

  25. Yea…We have a $25 million dollar 1B man who takes ground balls on a stool.
A 2B man whose career may or may not be over. He is owed $30 million more.
We paid our closer $50 million, while no team in the game paid more than half as much.
Lets pull out our dick and start smacking it, we do not have one more dollar to spend, but at least Ryan Madson is hurt..
The people writing these posts are fucking retarded.

Aramis Ramirez for $17 million less, instead of Papelbon, would make this team look really good right about now.

  27. Hey Angelo, weren’t you supposed to come over tonight and suck my dick while Joe fucked you in the ass?
    Or is that next weekend?

  28. in response to kyle’s mom. eat a dick. (not kyle’s)

  29. in response to cartman, I was talking about Kyle Scott.

  30. Why the fuck do people care about Salaries in baseball? There is no cap. Its not your money. Who he fuck cares what contracts they give out.

Madsen won’t even be worth the peanuts he is getting paid this year and what he’ll get next, Tommy John surgery takes a year after the surgery to rehab for a pitcher, and probably a few months AFTER the rehab is done to get back to game condition. So, with Madson, he’s not looking like he’ll be ready to go until about June or July 2013….
